TRIO Scholars – Opening the Door of Opportunity

Our Mission Statement

UC Riverside has a rich history of opening the door of opportunity. The TRIO Scholars Program supports this history. The program provides access to higher education for eligible students regardless of race, ethnicity or culture. The current UCR TRIO Scholars Program was established in 2015 and most recently received an award of $261,888 per year for the 2020-2025 grant cycle.

Today, we promote the academic, social, personal and professional success of all our students. We build a strong sense of community, drawing on resources both within and outside of the program. We strive to provide students with tools and support to succeed and excel at UCR and beyond.

Connecting Students

The TRIO Scholars Program provides the academic assistance necessary for student success. This assistance is available to participants the moment they are accepted into the program. And it continues until they graduate. Academic support, individual tutoring, financial advising and career and graduate school counseling are some of the many services offered by TRIO Scholars. This valuable program costs nothing, but provides TRIO Scholar participants with the tools they will need to be successful.
